The range of amenities and facilities at Loch Katrine means that it is an ideal choice for all groups - as a feature on an extended tour, or as a day-trip destination. Loch Katrine is suitable for groups of all sizes, and for special interest parties (including educational and school visits).
The highlight of a visit to Loch Katrine is of course a cruise on the loch itself - either on board the classic steamship Sir Walter Scott, or on the modern pleasure cruiser ‘Lady of the Lake’. This is an experience that everyone will treasure, and the cruise is enhanced by the opportunity to enjoy all the other facilities at Loch Katrine, including shopping in Katrine Gifts, walking by the side of the loch to admire the beauty of The Trossachs, and enjoying a coffee, a drink, or a meal in The Anchor’s Rest Bistro and Bar.
Advance reservations are strongly recommended for groups - to avoid disappointment and to make it easier to plan itineraries. For group organisers and tour operators visiting Loch Katrine regularly credit account facilities can be provided. Where reservations have been made for steamship sailings tickets can also be issued to individual group members from the Booking Office, located in The Car Park. Special souvenir tickets can be issued to groups when reserved in advance.
The facilities at Loch Katrine, including cruises for groups, are available all year round. The steamship Sir Walter Scott normally operates between Easter and October, and cruises are available all year round on ‘Lady of the Lake’ and on ‘Ellen’s Isle’.
A minimum period of 3 hours is recommended - to allow time for a cruise on Loch Katrine, and to provide time for all the other facilities to be enjoyed by visitors.
Loch Katrine is situated in the heart of The Trossachs - and its location means that a full day can be enjoyed visiting this beautiful area, with visits to Aberfoyle, Callander, and popular attractions including The Scottish Wool Centre.
